Used AI to create a portfolio website for myself.
About this project
I used Claude Code to help design and build a fully custom website that I will continuously use as a portfolio to show my ai projects and describe my process while creating them. Some of these projects will be downloadable while others will just go over basic descriptions. This demonstrates the capability and versatility of ai through a project that would normally weeks for someone who inexperienced in custom website creation to just hours of the course of several days. To separate this website from other I create a unique project layout used a dynamically growing tree as I add more projects. The tree branch length is customizable in the admin panel and has other visual options to differentiate my projects.
How it was built with AI
Built collaboratively with Claude, over a series of sessions. It started from a rough master plan and grew from there: design system and database first, then the admin tools, then the public pages. The tree view took the most iteration with several redesigns that were tried and scrapped before landing on the current approach, which is a genuine procedural generator (not hand-placed artwork) that takes an ordered project list and draws the whole tree from scratch, growth stage and all. While also having the ability to edit the branch length by hand. The generator now lives as its own standalone, reusable package, separate from the website itself.
